From Behaviour Management to Behaviour Support
£0.00
By the end of this introductory session, participants will be able to:
Describe the difference between a reactive behaviour management approach and a proactive behaviour support approach.
Recognise the importance of understanding the reasons behind behaviour rather than focusing solely on reducing or stopping it.
Identify how positive relationships, communication and environmental adjustments can support positive outcomes.
Explain why dignity, inclusion, quality of life and individual needs should be central to behaviour support.
Recognise the value of prevention, teaching skills and adapting support to meet individual needs.
Reflect on current practice and identify opportunities to adopt a more proactive, person centred approach within their educational setting.
This session introduces the principles of moving towards positive behaviour support. It does not provide the skills required to develop comprehensive behaviour support plans or implement specialist interventions independently. These areas are explored through further training.
