Introduction to ABC Recording
£0.00
By the end of this introductory session, participants will be able to:
Explain the purpose of ABC recording in understanding behaviour.
Identify the three components of an ABC record: antecedent, behaviour and consequence.
Describe the importance of recording observable behaviour in clear, factual and measurable terms.
Distinguish between objective descriptions and assumptions or interpretations.
Recognise how recording what happens before and after behaviour may help identify patterns.
Understand that ABC records provide information for further consideration but do not, on their own, confirm why a behaviour occurs.
This session provides a foundational introduction to ABC recording. Developing reliable recording systems, analysing patterns across multiple observations and using assessment findings to inform individualised support are covered in further training.
