Looking Beyond the Behaviour
£0.00
By the end of this introductory session, participants will be able to:
Explain why it is important to look beyond the behaviour that is immediately visible.
Recognise that behaviour may be influenced by a combination of communication, environmental, social and individual factors.
Identify possible signs that a child's needs, experiences or environment may be affecting their behaviour.
Understand the importance of avoiding assumptions about a child's intentions or motivations.
Recognise how adult responses and environmental demands may influence a child's experience.
Identify ways to promote a more compassionate, person centred and supportive approach within their setting.
This session introduces the principles of looking beyond observable behaviour. It does not provide a detailed assessment framework or teach participants to determine the function of behaviour independently. These skills are developed through further training.
