Preventing Behaviour Before It Escalates
£17.00
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Explain the difference between proactive support and reactive responses to behaviour.
Identify environmental and situational factors that may increase the likelihood of behavioural difficulties.
Recognise potential early changes that may indicate a need for additional support, without assuming that these signs always predict escalation.
Identify practical ways to support predictability, communication, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
Describe how adapting demands and environmental conditions may help prevent avoidable difficulties.
Recognise the importance of individualised support, dignity and established safeguarding and safety procedures when responding to escalating behaviour.
This session focuses on proactive prevention and early support. It does not replace individualised risk assessment, specialist crisis prevention training or setting specific procedures for responding to immediate risks.
